THE SEMINOLE EXHIBITS

We are making history to preserve history! The Pompano Historical Society, the Sample-McDougald House and Bailey Contemporary Arts have joined forces to show three separate but related exhibits. This is the first time we know of that three historic and art venues in one city have collaborated on an exhibit such as this.
We are hosting the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum’s ‘The Seminole Wars’ exhibit for the entire month! Come and learn about the great Seminole chiefs and warriors as the Seminole-Miccosukee Tribes celebrate the 200th anniversary of the start of the wars. This exhibit will be open through February 2nd, Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The Sample-McDougald House is presenting ‘A History of Seminole-Miccosukee in Clothing’ from the collection of Etho-historian and author, Patsy West. This exhibit includes traditional clothing from the 1800’s to the present. It will show through the first week of March on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The BaCA has a powerful display of photographic images: ‘The Florida Seminoles in Postcards’. also from Patsy West's archives. The display is open in the Blooming Bean Coffee Shop, January through February. Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 am – 6:00 and Saturdays 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

This is a unique opportunity. Make a day and visit all three venues; you could walk them all if you wanted!
